Humbly Bold

July 25, 2008

Well the “project” was turned in, but its definitely not over. We are continuing to see more and more ways that God worked through lives, to change lives. By no means is this intended for us to all brag and boast about important things we did, and if that is what you think it is, then don’t write anything at all. This is simply a way to keep us all reminded of why we’re really here, and to be able to share awesome ways that we were used by God. Sometimes we forget that God, no matter how great and large he is, still chooses to work his greatest miracles, using the most ordinary situations.

In John chapter 6, versus 1-15, it is just an ordinary day in Jerusalem and there are many sick, blind, lame, and paralyzed people all gathered at this one pool just relaxing, its their usual spot! They are used to being looked over since they are basically the rejects and the people nobody has time for. Then Jesus comes up to this one guy who had been an invalid for 38 years, which is a person who is too sick to take care of himself, and asks him if he wants to get well. The man is so stuck in his monotonous life, that all he replies to the KING OF KINGSSS is that he just wants to swim and nobody will take him! ha Then Jesus tells the guy, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.” So he was healed! at that moment! Then it says, the guy was trying to tell people who had done it but Jesus had already slipped away. This is how are savior likes to do things. He completely changes someones life, then disappears as to not take any credit for himself. He lived a life of servant-hood everywhere he went, yet he wanted nothing more but for his Father’s name to be glorified!

I think this is such an awesome story and if we could just live like this, then it would be impossible for people NOT to see our God. He has given us so much, lets give back every chance we get. So keep your eyes open, and know that we aren’t just here, for no reason. There are people placed in our lives that might be waiting on one simple act of love to be done for themmmm, to completely give their life to Him. We serve an awesome Christ who first served us, and its our hearts’ desire to serve as He did.

One.Simple.Act

Amazing

Well this is just so awesome! I’m so excited that so many people are sharing what they did! Its really encouraging. Today I was really amazed at how many opportunities there are all around me to serve others that i just completely miss every other day. They are always there, but we just have to be aware and try to never miss them! When you’re constantly looking for ways to help and love others, you become more and more like Christ, which is our only goal. Be looking EVERY DAY for your simple act that will touch someone’s life. I love hearing how different every story is, but they are all accomplishing the same thing- putting others before ourselves-and changing the world!  Keep it up!

Matthew 17:20

“I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

From where we are right now, our goal seems so far away. Changing the world is not an easy thing to do, but we believe that our idea of simply serving someone else is a practical way to do this. We will be in prayer throughout this whole thing, believing that if everyone gets involved, the changes will be unimaginable.
